In 2024, under the leadership of Eugene Ramirez Mapondera, Lightbulbs & Lazers presented the case study “Frightening and Fascinating AI” at WIPO’s 10th Conversation on IP and Frontier Technologies in Geneva. The session brought together high-level policymakers, ambassadors, and global experts to examine creativity and authorship in the age of artificial intelligence

Bloomberg Philanthropies (via regional health communication initiative)

Lightbulbs & Lazers was selected as a media partner under a Bloomberg Philanthropies–supported regional initiative focused on strengthening public health communication in Southern Africa. Our team developed creative multimedia and digital storytelling strategies that enhanced community engagement and awareness around critical social issues.

Matamba Film Labs for Women

In 2024–2025, Lightbulbs & Lazers provided animation and extended-reality mentorship to emerging female creators in the Matamba Immersiv Incubator, supported by the Embassy of Ireland in Pretoria. The engagement included XR workshops, technical guidance, and presentation support for projects exploring fashion, music, and climate change through immersive storytelling—advancing women’s participation in Zimbabwe’s new-media ecosystem.
